Spring Cleaning of the House and the Self

Happy Monday! Cancun was SUPER FUN and we spent the whole week beach bummin'! Haa not really. But we did sip a lot of smoothies and pina coladas (virgin) out there! The weather was nice and warm and we went zip-lining over the jungle, swimming under caves, hiking, visited the ancient Chichen Itza Mayan temples, rode amphibious vehicles through the jungle and in caves, and went rafting!! More images are available on Facebook LOL there were waaayyyyy too many to post in this itty bitty blog! In case you're wondering though, I can assure you we had a great time.

Things are going great in the Thomas household! We're doing our Spring cleaning of making our house look really good and SPOTLESS because we're selling it! Well, trying at least. This house is Beautiful, and it's been a tremendous blessing living in our neighborhood and being in our family ward, but sometimes you get new opportunities and ya just gotta move on with life! These opportunities include moving to Provo so we can be closer to Sean's job and our family, as well as saving to buy a new house in Provo. And I get to spend more time with my twin!

Our plan is to sell our house and throw all the money into a savings account that we can't touch, move into an apartment for a little while, and once the perfect house comes up for sale that we really REALLY want, we'd have the cash to make an offer and put a down payment on it that day! No more waiting months at a time for our down payment money to "season" while some other couple takes our dream home from our hands!

We're also focusing on Spring cleaning of the selves also. I've been taking multivitamins and this new Hair Skin Nails product from the Itworks company. I've heard raving reviews about this product so I wanted to try it for myself. Sean's been taking zumba classes in the mornings before work and he gets so many compliments! People can definitely tell he's a ballroom dancer by the way he shakes his hips and dances so well to the rhythm of the music! He totally loves ballroom dancing. If it wasn't for my bad neck and back, I would've started dancing with him years ago!

My back and neck are actually getting better! Slowly but surely, I've been able to go to the gym again and even do a few ballroom lessons with my Sweetie! We both applied for BYU summer-school so we can hopefully take a ballroom class together. If it's meant to be, I'll get accepted (Sean has no problem getting in because his mom works there LOL) and we'll sell the house and move to Provo and maybe even compete a few times together!

I've been enjoying the attention I get from modeling also. I've had fun modeling with my twin sister Karri for a few photoshoots. Modeling is so much fun and a lot more work than most people think! I have to be in tip top shape EVERY DAY and according to my agent, I'm not allowed to leave my house without makeup and a nice outfit (unless I'm headed to a makeup-artist's salon to get makeup done for a shoot). She says I need to always be, "A walking casting-call and a fashion runway doll." I LOVE runway, it's a lot of fun and the upbeat electro/techno music they play at most fashion shows gives me a rush like no other music! It's thrilling. Modeling to me is like paying a great big real-life game of DRESS UP! I get to be the doll, and people dress me, put makeup on me, do my hair, etc. It's like a makeover every week and I get to experiment with different looks, hairstyles, clothes and makeup that I'm normally too lazy to do myself! I like to encourage ALL my friends and family members to do modeling, whether for fun or for a career. Nothing beats that feeling you get when those camera lights are flashing in your face and you're the star of the day! I like to refer to myself as a clean slate, or canvas, where artists (fashion designers, hair stylists, and makeup artists) can showcase and display their work. It's amazing.

Sean's doing EXCELLENT right now, he absolutely loves working for atly and he has been really busy these past few months starting and making his own business with a friend! I think he said it officially releases in a few weeks. Supposedly this new business is gonna make us rich someday! That would be nice, but I already consider us rich! Not necessarily in terms of money, but in blessings! I have the Gospel in my life, the man of my dreams by my side every single day, a family that loves me and plus my hair randomly grew a few inches longer! :D That's the definition of rich to me. What more could I possibly need??

Have a GREAT week everyone! Remember that you control whether your week is good or bad so make it a good one!

Where the heck did Corri go?

Here she is! I totally forgot I had this blog! So sorry, I know a lot of family members looked forward to getting my blog post every week, and I'll try to update it more often!

Well me and Sean are doing GREAT! Here's an update of our lives:

Sean quit his job at Savant as a hardware/electrical engineer, and is now working at Atly as a web programmer and software engineer. Atly is a new online website (www.atly.com) where ANYONE can make their own online class, charge however much they want, and random people across the globe BUY and take that class!  He really LOVES his job and they love him. His boss, Adam Ashton, belongs to the family who created the famous "Thanksgiving Point" shopping center in Lehi, Utah. He's really nice, and he has an entire room at work FULL of snacks, drinks, candy, junk food, etc. Sean loves that haha. And it pays very well, so we're both really happy ;)

Sean is also building an AWESOME website with a friend that's gonna help companies run well. He's really good at building websites and he loves doing it! He's totally a computer nerd lol. A good-looking one at least! ;D He is an absolutely AMAZING Husband and I love him soooooooooooo much and he does so much to provide for our family and keeps me happy! I appreciate him so much. It still amazes he that he teaches himself how to repair ANYTHING from broken car parts, to people's websites, to taking all my hairballs out of the clogged sink! He's beyond awesome.

I have 2 classes on Atly right now, a couponing class (www.atly.com/couponing101) where I charge students $30 each and a make-ahead freezer crockpot meals class that I normally charge $5 per student, but is free for the first 2,000 registrants. I have 408 students in both classes. Each class is SUPER easy, fun, beginner-friendly and can save families money, time, and stress! Who doesn't need that?

Besides acting, modeling, and being on a quest to become and AMAZING chef for our little family, I'm finishing up my VERY LAST class before I get my degree, and will be finished in May. I technically already "graduated" with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Speech and Interpersonal Communication with a 3.99 GPA, but will finally receive the diploma when I complete this last class. I also have a very successful blog called Femiology (www.femiology.com) that just got over 5,000 views today! I can officially say I'm a Blogger!

Me and Sean have a house in South Jordan, Utah, and are trying to rent it out and move to Provo, which is where Sean works. We want to move into an apartment and save up money to buy a second house, just like Sean's mom Sandy does. She just bought her 3rd house and two of them are rented out. Sandy is SUPER nice, we love spending time with her and going on fun outings and family dinners with her!

We don't have Sushi (our kitten) anymore, unfortunately she had a really bad biting habit and didn't like anyone who came over... Sean says sometime after we have kids we can get another cat that's not so mean to everyone. I'm looking forward to that!

In about 2 weeks, me and Sean are going to Cancun! We're WAY excited about it. Our lender for the house included a free 7-night all-inclusive vacation in Cancun for using her services so we've been planning it for 6 months now! While we're there, we're gonna go on a sunset cruise, taking a tour to the ancient Chechen Itza pyramids, swim with dolphins and spend Valentine's Day salsa dancing on a private island! Can't wait!!

That's about it..... LOL. I promise I'll do my best to keep up with my blog! Take care everyone!

How long has it been???

Wow I just realized I've been so busy with life that I've been neglecting my poor little blog! Well just in case I don't say enough on Facebook, I wanna let everyone know I'm doing GREAT!!!! Me and Sean are doing very well and were in the process of sending out thank you cards for our wedding. Ya, 15 months later....hopefully people won't be too upset.. We barely got our wedding pics back from our photographer so technically it's his fault. But like they say, better late than never! I just feel bad for those cards I've written where I said "Thank you for coming to our reception" and AFTER sending them, reading their card and noticing they apologized for not being able to make it. Whoops!! Lol. Soooooo me and Sean are in the process of buying a house! It's gonna take a while to actually get one but so far we've been preapproved for a loan and are saving every dime for the downpayment and looking at houses online!!! Soooooo exciting! Our contract ends this August so were excited to get out of an apartment and into a house! FINALLYYYYY no 7 flights to walk up just to get inside!!!! I dunno how our kitten Sushi will take the whole moving process but hopefully she adjusts well too. I'll be sure to keep up with this blog from now on. I've been longing to write in it but have had sooooooo much homework which leads up to... IM GRADUATING THIS SPRING!!!!!!!!! Woooo hoooo!!!!!!! Yep, I'll have a BA in Speech Comm and a minor in child psychology. Ill get my diploma in August. Wish me luck getting a job afterwards! I hear its pretty competitive in Utah...

Monday Mondaaaaaayyyyyy

Hi Followers! Guess who JUST BARELY discovered Pinterest?!

MY NEIGHBOR!!!!!!! Haha jk jk.
I did!

I've narrowed my boards into only a few different categories: My Style, My Hot Hubby, Recipes I Wanna Try Making, and Ballroom (because me and Sean ballroom dance together). You know what I just realized? Pinterest not only lets you save pictures into different categories, but if you click on any of them, it takes you right to it's website and SHOWS YOU HOW TO DO IT!!!! Meaning, if it's a recipe or a home decorating idea, it shows you how to make it! It's like, I get to become one of those cutesy creative wives just because I can see what other people are making and try to recreate them at home! VERY cool..

For those of you who haven't heard the AMAZING NEWS (that does not involve a baby, a million dollars or a upcoming trip to California) I got STRAIGHT A's this last semester! (despite the fact that I fell asleep in some classes, walked out of others due to SUPER boring lectures, and made complaints about certain professors who were too vulgar) That's the first time I've gotten straight A's since MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! I think what made the difference is the fact that I wasn't staying out late at night partying and dancing like I used to every Friday and Saturday before I was married. Only now, I still stay up late and have mini-dance parties with my Hubby (or I stay up late making his lunch for the next day..)! By the way, we just celebrated our 8-monthiversary yesterday :)

I love Sean. I don't know how many times I've said it, or if it wasn't obvious by my many Facebook posts that you're all probably tired of seeing LOL, but I am truly grateful that I met him. I am grateful that I stayed patient with my Heavenly Father and waited for the one who would be worthy of me, and worthy to take me to the Temple. He's everything I've ever wanted in a husband and a best friend. I remember once in Young Women's class I wrote down a list of all the qualities that I wanted in a future husband, and kept that list inside my Scriptures. Some attributes on the list said:

-LDS and Temple worthy
-Christ-like
-handsome
-strong
-humorous
-Priesthood holder
-considerate
-loves and respects his mother
-good with kids
-trustworthy, dependable, willingness to serve
-happy
-charitable
-forgiving
-loving; puts God first, than me.

I never really thought twice about it, but sometimes whenever I got stuck in or got out of a bad relationship, I would pull out that list and think to myself that there's someone out there who will exceed all of my expectations. Some people told me that it was useless and in vain to write a list of qualities that you wanted in a person, because it would disappoint you when you find out that no one is like that. Well that was SOOO NOT TRUE!!! Because I recently pulled out that list and found that my Husband has every single one of those qualities, and some!! I wasn't expecting some perfect flawless person would walk into my life but I ended up finding one who was perfect- perfect for me.

Besides that, LOL I just had a super awkward moment... I was here, home all alone and someone knocks on the door. I'm thinking, ugh! Who even knows where we live?? I wasn't dressed besides PJ's, my hair was a tangled MESS, no makeup, and I had a bad case of bedhead.... and it was one of Sean's friends coming over to drop off a light-up costume that Sean made. I bet he's thinking, "Wha-- THAT'S Sean's wife??" Haha I hope I didn't leave a bad impression for Sean LOL. I didn't even want to answer the door at all but Sean was looking for that costume. Well, the only person I'm really required to impress is my Hunny Bunny, Sean. So when he gets home tonight, I'm gonna make sure I'm dressed up cute, my hair is done, dinner's made and on the table, and the house is clean. I kind of sort of gotta make up for that moment.. (That's a today-thing only LOL. I like to surprise him every now and then..)

LIVING THE DREAM!!!!!! ...uhhh, in Utah.

HEY FOLLOWERS!

On behalf of myself and my Spouse, we would like to publicly welcome each and every reader to this Blog again! People keep telling me I should write blogs more often, but all the schoolwork I have makes me not want to write anything more than a Facebook status haha. Sooooooooo my week's been going GREAT so far! Sean just got a new job in Salt Lake City so we're gonna be moving in a few weeks for that; I'm going to attend UVU again in the Fall (reminding everyone again that this is the only school I've ever heard of that's mascot is ROADKILL)   ..and if I survive that, I'll be graduated by the end of next Summer! Yessss I look forward to the sweet victory of a Bachelor's degree (even though I'm married) and a full time office job somewhere over the rainbow (isn't that the typical American dream?) when school's out!  OK ok so I really want to get a degree to prove a point. I grew up in foster care, and I just learned some STUNNING statistics today about foster youth!!!

*An astounding 66% of all former foster youth end up homeless, doing drugs, in jail or DEAD within 2 years of them leaving the system. (yikes!)
*80-90% of former foster females end up pregnant (unplanned) within the first 2 years.
*Only 10% attempt to go to college and less than 2% get a degree.

Well, I've made up my mind- the only way I'm gonna ever be pregnant and on the streets is if I get to be in some kind of PARADE someday as Mrs USA after I have a couple kids...!!!! Hahaha and candy makes me hyper enough- why do I need drugs? I don't understand people who think that candy can't give them more satisfaction...... I mean, have you ever seen someone enjoying a Twix bar on TV? They're dressed up nicely, hair and makeup done, and are enjoying that candy bar!!!! Drugs on the other hand- nah ah. Those people are usually sitting somewhere in a dark alley or in a cluttered house, with messy hair, no makeup, crusty lips, yellow teeth and they probably paid way more for something that's gonna destroy their conscience, ruin their lives and harm themselves. I choose candy ANY day. HOW CAN ANYONE DENY ITS YUMMINESS?!?!?!?!?!!!!!?

Another funny thing that happened today was when Sean took me to Sally's Beauty Supply and told me I can buy whatever I wanted. My Kool-Aid grin became wider than my shoulders as I ran up and down every aisle picking what I wanted. The whole time, Sean looked VERY bored and wasn't interested in the stuff I bought, only that I needed it or it made me happy. After we left, Sean's face LIT UP when he saw a Vitamin & Supplement store. I told him he could go in and get whatever he needed, and we stayed there for a good hour, and as Sean asked the merchant many questions about health supplements and vitamins, I caught myself sitting at the corner of the store in a chair, yawning and thinking about how BORING it was. LOL!!!! We're totally opposite but we react the same way!! In the end, we were both happy with our purchases. :) :)

Aside from that (I dunno how we even got to talking about candy haha), Sean and I are doing LOVELY! We went on a little lovely weekend getaway (hah getaway from Provo) last week and stayed in Salt Lake. He took me to the zoo for the first time EVER. We also ate out a ton, he took me on a couple shopping spree's in which I got TONS of stuff to pamper myself, which I think I'll do after writing this blog! He's really excited about starting his new job- he'll be programming lights, fans, and all household appliances to turn of and on automatically by the touch of an iPad app. Even the water, air conditioner and doors can lock/unlock or open close and its all controlled by an app! I dunno how he does it..... :)

Soooooooooo the time has come, Followers, to put an end to your sufferings, I mean readings.. (JK JK) I don't wanna be responsible for soo many readers' strained eyes, bad posture and anxiety from wondering what I'm gonna write next.. But I hope everyone has an AMAZING week and remember to Smile for at least 10 random people each day! It makes you BOTH happy. Tchau!
