LIVING THE DREAM!!!!!! ...uhhh, in Utah.

HEY FOLLOWERS!

On behalf of myself and my Spouse, we would like to publicly welcome each and every reader to this Blog again! People keep telling me I should write blogs more often, but all the schoolwork I have makes me not want to write anything more than a Facebook status haha. Sooooooooo my week's been going GREAT so far! Sean just got a new job in Salt Lake City so we're gonna be moving in a few weeks for that; I'm going to attend UVU again in the Fall (reminding everyone again that this is the only school I've ever heard of that's mascot is ROADKILL)   ..and if I survive that, I'll be graduated by the end of next Summer! Yessss I look forward to the sweet victory of a Bachelor's degree (even though I'm married) and a full time office job somewhere over the rainbow (isn't that the typical American dream?) when school's out!  OK ok so I really want to get a degree to prove a point. I grew up in foster care, and I just learned some STUNNING statistics today about foster youth!!!

*An astounding 66% of all former foster youth end up homeless, doing drugs, in jail or DEAD within 2 years of them leaving the system. (yikes!)
*80-90% of former foster females end up pregnant (unplanned) within the first 2 years.
*Only 10% attempt to go to college and less than 2% get a degree.

Well, I've made up my mind- the only way I'm gonna ever be pregnant and on the streets is if I get to be in some kind of PARADE someday as Mrs USA after I have a couple kids...!!!! Hahaha and candy makes me hyper enough- why do I need drugs? I don't understand people who think that candy can't give them more satisfaction...... I mean, have you ever seen someone enjoying a Twix bar on TV? They're dressed up nicely, hair and makeup done, and are enjoying that candy bar!!!! Drugs on the other hand- nah ah. Those people are usually sitting somewhere in a dark alley or in a cluttered house, with messy hair, no makeup, crusty lips, yellow teeth and they probably paid way more for something that's gonna destroy their conscience, ruin their lives and harm themselves. I choose candy ANY day. HOW CAN ANYONE DENY ITS YUMMINESS?!?!?!?!?!!!!!?

Another funny thing that happened today was when Sean took me to Sally's Beauty Supply and told me I can buy whatever I wanted. My Kool-Aid grin became wider than my shoulders as I ran up and down every aisle picking what I wanted. The whole time, Sean looked VERY bored and wasn't interested in the stuff I bought, only that I needed it or it made me happy. After we left, Sean's face LIT UP when he saw a Vitamin & Supplement store. I told him he could go in and get whatever he needed, and we stayed there for a good hour, and as Sean asked the merchant many questions about health supplements and vitamins, I caught myself sitting at the corner of the store in a chair, yawning and thinking about how BORING it was. LOL!!!! We're totally opposite but we react the same way!! In the end, we were both happy with our purchases. :) :)

Aside from that (I dunno how we even got to talking about candy haha), Sean and I are doing LOVELY! We went on a little lovely weekend getaway (hah getaway from Provo) last week and stayed in Salt Lake. He took me to the zoo for the first time EVER. We also ate out a ton, he took me on a couple shopping spree's in which I got TONS of stuff to pamper myself, which I think I'll do after writing this blog! He's really excited about starting his new job- he'll be programming lights, fans, and all household appliances to turn of and on automatically by the touch of an iPad app. Even the water, air conditioner and doors can lock/unlock or open close and its all controlled by an app! I dunno how he does it..... :)

Soooooooooo the time has come, Followers, to put an end to your sufferings, I mean readings.. (JK JK) I don't wanna be responsible for soo many readers' strained eyes, bad posture and anxiety from wondering what I'm gonna write next.. But I hope everyone has an AMAZING week and remember to Smile for at least 10 random people each day! It makes you BOTH happy. Tchau!

LO & BEHOLD! She's Written Another Blog!!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone! Happy Independence Day! Sooooooo it's been a long week.. I started Summer school back up and it's been really hectic.. I'm taking an Intro to Mass Comm class, a Geology class and a Music History class. The Geology class is the most interesting one, yet I'm sure I won't be saying that once our first pop-quiz comes up.. I learned that diamonds are not made out of coal, but actually they're made out of granite, and I also learned that when that HUGE expected earthquake hits California, the whole state is NOT going to sink under water, but that only the coast will be split apart and half of California will be an island. It takes years and years for it to float far off also, so that's likely not gonna happen either. Whew! That makes many of my nightmares fade away....LOL.

So Sean went to Maryland last Thursday for a job interview.. For those of you like ME, who can't locate Maryland if their lives depended on it, it's by New York. For those of you MORE like me, who can't locate New York, it's on the far east coast. For those of you REALLY like me, who can't tell what's north from what's east, well good luck finding it..haa.

Long story short, it was only about 24 hours that he was gone and I felt like it was MONTHS!! Ugh I missed him sooooooooo much and did not know if I would survive without him!! The dishes started piling up, my laundry remained unfolded on the couch-- JK JK JK. Nah Sean's an Amazing housekeeper and even more of an Amazing husband and I love him soooo much and that's really why I missed him. The only time I've ever separated him was when I went to California to visit the family, only then I would share my Twin's room. To get my mind off him being gone and me being lonely, I decided that I wanted to surprise Sean with dinner and dessert when he got home.

...Ugh and now that I think of it, chicken is officially THE ENEMY!!! I tried following someone's recipe online on how to fry it, and they said that I should put oil in a pan and heat is EXTRA HOT and then add the chicken after dipping it in egg and bread-crumbs. I did EXACTLY THAT, and once I put it in the pan, the whole thing fried and BURNED within a few seconds and hot grease flew at me from all directions!!! I felt like I was in a videogame, trying to dodge all the smoke, get the fire alarm to shut off and open the windows! Not only that, I couldnt get the chicken out of the pan because of the popping hot grease out so I just slumped down on the couch and watched it burn ignorantly. It almost looked as if the chicken was doing a little dance in the pan just to annoy me!! It won... As soon as it finally simmered down, I took the scathing burnt piece of meat and cut a knife into it for good measure (and revenge) and sure enough-- the inside was raw and bleeding. I'm not even sure if this chicken was even dead or not.. (-_-)

I think the chicken was plotting revenge on me because it was hard sleeping that night. I kept hearing little creepy noises and dark shadows filled my bedroom.. It's like when you're five years old and you feel like there's a monster under the bed.. that's how I felt. There was no one there to hold me tight and tell me everything's gonna be okay- until I prayed.

I prayed for comfort, strength, and that Heavenly Father would bring my Hubby back home safely to me. (HA! Take THAT, little chicken!)

Heavenly Father blesses my life tremendously. Every day I pray for my family and He keeps them safe and happy and He takes really good care of me and Sean. When Sean got back, he mentioned that he felt as if I was praying for him. And I was!! I had planned a little luau surprise for when he got back home, and it went really well! He came home to a clean Hawaiian-decorated house, balloons that said "Welcome Back," a very yummy frosted yellow cake with strawberry jello in it and strawberries, and a fancy candle-lit dinner. PLUS he brought me back roses!!! Yep I love him. :)

So yes, we're out here in the small Utah bubble, living as happy as can be; serving diligently and loving each other with all our hearts. My Lauritzen parents taught us how to do that ;) Thanks Mom & Dad!

CALIFORNIA DREAMING!!!!!!!!!

Sean and I just got back to Utah  from CALIFORNIA!!!! for Memorial Day weekend with the new car Sean bought me. We drove down there at nighttime last Friday and about 10 miles after we started driving on the freeway I realized that the car had NO CRUISE CONTROL. If that wasn't the biggest oversight in our solar-system....LOL. I had a blast visiting the Sunshine State and staying with my Happy Loving Family out there. Mom & Dad and Karri were happy to see us and we were welcomed home with big hugs and bright smiley faces. I didn't notice that being in Utah all this time did something to me and Sean-- I saw it as soon as we sat down to eat with the family. We were both pasty and pale compared to the rest of our family! My Mom, Karri, Ryan, Gary, and even Dad were more tanned than my natural BLACKNESS!!! Whelp, I guess our whole family turned to the dark side afterall.. JK JK.

Our adventures in California were as followed- It was fun being able to go to the beach with the fam on Monday and build sandcastles, swim, eat, tan and toss those little sand-crabs on people's stomachs as they slept muahahahahaaa! I went to a pool party with my old friends that I haven't seen in FOREVER and it was an Amazing thing to even go to Kasia's (my older sister) Endowment at the Los Angeles Temple where Sean and I got married! I went to my family ward on Sunday and saw my most favorite people EVER (everyone in the the Jurupa ward) and everyone was so happy to see me and Sean there. I mostly enjoyed spending time with Karri, my beloved "mono zygotic synthetic deoxyribonucleac acid clone or stunt double" and now I'm sitting next to this huge new pile of clothing, shoes and jewelry we bartered all weekend long that's FINALLY MINE!!!!! ..looks like I got the better part of that deal! :D :D Haa..

I already miss Karri now that we're back home.. She wasn't home for much of the time I was there.. besides our beach trip, she was always either at a photo shoot or getting ready for one.. I am really happy for her that she's finding all these modeling gigs and hope that she will always be a good "role model" to all our younger siblings, nieces and nephews. I always tell my siblings who look up to me that the world doesn't need another model, it needs "role models" and that's what Karri and I hope to always be. I have a photo shoot out here in Utah next Friday which I'm excited for and Karri can even use those pics that I take for her own portfolio since no one can tell who's really who in pictures anyways haha.

Back at home in Utah, let's see.... I started school, I have a new laptop, I just made my very own homemade potato salad recipe that actually TASTES GOOD, and we're unpacking from our trip. It was a long long LONNNNNNGGGG drive back to Utah and we got home at 8am this morning and I had class at 9am! I told my Professor that I had a family emergency (which a lack of sleep counts for), handed him my essay and drove straight home and passed out for a couple hours. Ahhhhhh sleep!!! My second dessert ;) Actually dessert and sleep sounds really good right now...MUST HAVE BOTH!!!!!!! :)

But before I go, I have a poem on BEAUTY that I would like to share with everyone here-

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”

Spring Fling with Extra Bling!!!!

Hi Followers!!!!! (I'm not pregnant, if that's what you're gonna ask) Haha I've been getting that question a lot lately.....

But other great news--- you know the flowers I was holding for my wedding?? Here they are-- still THRIVING!!! :D
MoRe GoOd NeWs:
SEAN'S GRADUATING NEXT WEEK!!!!!! :D
and I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!! :D

...and I JUST SAVED A BUNCHA MONEY ON MY CAR INSURANCE BY SWITCHING TO GEICO!!!!!!!

ok.. so I don't have insurance... (come to think of it, I don't have a car either..) But Sean does! Yay!

El oh El!!! Wow its been almost 5 months since we got married and ran off to Utah! Sorry peeps.. we're trying to move back to Cali but its not in our agenda yet.. (I blame it on schooling...) We're happy here too though! Just not as happy as we WOULD be if we were in Cali..
Sooooooooo Sean and I learned a valuable lesson today... we needed an office chair for our living room and we didn't feel like spending $50 bucks on a good one so we thought we'd take the easy way out... we went to Deseret Industries (a local thrift store) and found a Really Nice one and it was a little cracked on the side but it looked good and we bought it for only $7 bucks! Good deal, huh?

Well........... long story short: Once we got home, Sean started doing homework on it and he leaned back on it once and--

THIS happened...
Lesson learned: don't be cheap- cuz you get what ya pay for! LOL.

Besides that, I'm here learning how to be a good Wifey and not poison my Hubby with all the "creative" recipes I've been coming up with and end up eating all by myself because Sean thinks it smells funny, looks queer, or questions why his food is growling at him...... I've started my own cookbook with recipes I find online but I always end up improving each one when there's an ingredient in it that I'm not too fond of.. like Fennel.. what recipe on Earth needs Fennel?? Haa as a joke I should make a Fennel cake! Bahaha!!!

I'm working now too-- I got a new job as a Receptionist at Preferred Family Clinic which is exactly 48 seconds away from home - by feet - LOL. It's this really big office building right next door to where I live. I like it there- the people are SUPER nice and I get my own computer, phone, desk, chair, MANY cute office supplies, file drawer, office space to decorate however I want, and there's a giant file cabinet full of CANDY that I have Free Access to ANYTIME!!!! What more can a Corri want?? (^_^)

Hubby and I have been doing well lately! We filed our taxes together and we just now got this HUGE bonus back from the Gov that we never knew we could get and we're planning on doing some extra "Government spending" this week LOL!

We had a good Easter too.. we first made yummy smoothies out of orange juice, strawberries, sugar and ice (we call it Lava Juice in Cali) and drank them outside in the warm sun... then we went to Church and in our Marriage & Family Relations class that we teach, we HID 60 EASTER EGGS around the class and had everyone find them in the middle of the lesson!!!! After Church we surprised Sandy (Sean's Mom) with a really cute Easter basket we made and then went to Sean's Uncle's house for Easter dinner and took a couple family pics. It was such a great day.. :) :)

Right now we're both at home- Sean's studying for his finals (he graduates in ONE WEEK YAYYYY!!!!!! ...and my poor widow hubby wubby has a bad cold.... :(

I'm SUPER bored-- I already cleaned the house and cooked dinner AND made a yummy dessert (Sean loved AND ate both LOL) and now I don't know what to do really.... my friend Yocee (who just got married a month after us) called and I'm gonna go shopping with her tomorrow for house decorations.... LOL the fun things you can do when you get married...
Sooooooooo my Dear Sweet Followers, the only advice I have for you all is to STAY HAPPY!!!! And this time I actually have a question for YOU, Followers!! If any of you are married, have been married or plan on getting married in the next few uhh... whenever, what are some things You do in your spare time?? (besides shopping and scrap-booking cuz we cant do that every day..) I need ideas!! I don't feel like cooking or napping and Sean can't really be bothered because his life basically depends on how well he does on these tests.... Gahh it's too rainy to go on a walk outside and I don't feel like doing my nails or going to the gym.. blehh the same routine every day.......... =/

ANYONE??

Be Happy.. iHappy, ...iCorri

A Little Secret About......

OUR MARRIAGE!!!!!! :D

I just wanted to yell that loudly and let the Whole Wide World know how Awesome it is!!! Haha and now that I'm a "wifey blogger" and can say whatever I want about being married, I will!!!!

It's been almost 3 months since I tied the knot (officially longer than Kim Kardashian and Kris bahahahaaa) and I LOVE being married. It's fun to always have a companion there with you at home. To live with, to eat, sleep, and pray with, and to share good times and hard times together. Sean and I are working it all out and trying hard to make and keep our family a happy, successful one. There are many things that you can do to keep your marriage Happy and Successful, but since I've only been married for 3 months, I won't go into a big spiel about tips that actually work.. yet.
...actually I just don't feel like it LOL. It's been such a beautiful day that I don't feel like writing much.. I am sitting next to Sean right now, and we're at his mom's house doing laundry. Sean is working from home and I am blogging about him and he has noooo idea. Haha! It's funny, Sean's like, REALLY good at working with computers and new technology. His idea of "working from home" is tapping into his school's work system, clocking himself in and working from home as if he's sitting at a computer at school. It's cool how someone can do that.. even on a Saturday, and they never say anything about it.
I work now, too (finally LOL). I work at Target in Orem. It's fun working there but I never thought I'd be doing construction.. so it seems.. it's more of a "remodeling team" as they call it, but there's a lot of hard work to do each day and I work full time. It's a job though, and I'm glad I have it. Everyone's really nice there, especially the management.

Soooooooo all my single friends are asking me when we're planning on having kids and what it's like being married- I'll tell you.

It great! :D

I get to cook whenever I want and I get to command my husband to do things like cleaning the bathroom, doing the dishes, making the bed, etc. He must REALLY love me because lately he's been doing it without me even telling him and I think it's kinda cool.. :) I've got him under my spell.. and I still play hard to get just because I can.. It's also fun to go places together-- today was such a beautiful day that we went indoor surfing, hiking on a trail and then we rode beach bikes down the warm sunny streets of Provo!! It's been a warm winter so far, unlike last year, (it only snowed like, 4 times total) so we're totally lucky to have sunshine.

OK OK so you caught me- I've been avoiding the "question" about kids. Well, Sean graduates this Summer (but then I START school, ugh which is a mess right now..) and then wants to do grad school and I will graduate in about a year- so we've decided that we're gonna start a family sometime between the time he graduates and I graduate. We talk about it a lot-- names for our future kids and how we're gonna work out a work schedule and what not.. Sean's getting a degree in Electrical Engineering and I asked him why THAT major if he doesn't like it much? His response- "So I can make a lot of money and take my wife shopping whenever she wants." (Oh yes, he's a keeper..) =P

Sean makes me VERY happy, just by the things he says and does. Earlier I was Facebooking (or something like that) and he randomly blurts out, "I'm so glad I married a Princess. I get to keep her forever. I love you soooo MUCH!!!" and gave me a big hug. That put a smile on my face for sure! He does stuff like that, and last night, he picked me up from work and says "I have a surprise for you. We're going on a date." and he takes me home to get all dressed up and we got to go somewhere fun and eat sushi.

...and then sometimes, there's those moments where he totally cracks me up!! I've tried the whole "writing little love notes and hiding them around the house" thingy and it did NOT work. He found a piece of paper in his undies drawer and set it aside and walked away and I was like, "Did you see what it said?" and he's like, "Oh, was there something written on that paper?" and the other notes, even though they were in SUPER OBVIOUS places, he didn't see them until I had to individually point them out. LOL the other day I made sprinkle cookies and frosted them and hid them and left one big one out, and written in chocolate chips it said "I love Sean" and when I got home he said "Thanks for the cookies! They were good!" yet he never mentioned anything about the message.... later that night I asked him about it and he's like, "Oh, was there a message on it? I didn't notice!" LOL he's silly sometimes.

And we've never EVER gotten into an argument or been mad at each other for ANYTHING. We both figure that being mad is a waste of time and it's time lost that you could've been smiling, laughing or playing. Besides that, we have TONS of fun together. From hot-tubbing at 2am across the street and having cleaning parties at our house as we blast our radio and sing loudly; to eating an ENTIRE BATCH of brownies with a fork just after we made them; then dancing and jumping around the house because we're so hyper... it's always a blast being with someone who's just as hyper and energetic as I am.

Every once in a while I complain about not feeling pretty without makeup or being too tired when we need to go exercise but he always understands and has comebacks that make me feel beautiful, loved and very special to him. I love that about him. I love him. He truly is a Prince.

That's all I wanted to say..... I love this Family.
